The Fashion Technology Academy

Since 2001 the team at Fashion Enter have constantly been engaged in high-quality industry learning and seminars for technical skills and brand management which included innovative new style practical learning by the opening of boutiques and hand-holding mentoring.

In 2008 Fashion Enter opened a sampling unit and it was clearly apparent that there was a lack of technical skills and knowledge regarding patterns, grading and production. This lead to the opening of a Stitching Academy in 2013 with kind support from asos.com which was an outstanding success leading to positive job outcomes for learners.

In 2010 Fashion Enter became an ABC awarding body Showcase Center and was tick approved by Creative Skillset (the Government body for sector skills).  Fashion Enter is a recognised ESFA approved Training Provider for apprenticeships from level 2 - 5 centering on technical skill excellence in garment technology (click here for current available apprenticeship jobs), pattern making and stitching (level 2 and 3), Fashion Studio Assistant (level 3 and 4 ) and Bespoke Tailoring (level 5).  Fashion Enter is the preferred training provider for Savile Row Bespoke. Today Fashion Enter is the largest training provider for level 3- 5 technical skills working with a total of 33 retailers including M and S, asos.com, New Look, Jigsaw and many SME organisations too.

Tehia McDermot

From Stitching Academy Level 1 to June Sarpong’s apprentice, Tehia has excelled since enrolling with the FTA.

“I am so overjoyed that I have been selected for this unique apprenticeship at this stage of my life. I have been dedicated in finding the best route to a career in Fashion. The timing feels like destiny. This opportunity will prepare me for a future that I have envisioned for myself. This is an amazing experience that I will make the most of. I look forward to learning, working hard and embracing the adventure that this opportunity will bring. Thank you!”

In 2015 the Fashion Technology Academy opened with funding from Haringey Council and asos.comThis allowed for a wider cross section of qualifications and non accredited learning to be developed including pressing, quality control, machine maintenance as illustrated below.
